We may have done a little shopping while in Nebraska for what I will call the essentials and on that list is my new bike! I absolutely love it. As my friend said, "wow, you skipped a few years here." Yes, I know it's a cruiser and not the hip mountain bike or hybrid I should be riding right now, but it's just what I need. I'm not the person who goes out and bikes for miles and miles, I just want to ride around the neighborhood. It's a Schwinn and I'm totally digging the retro look. Yes, those are white wall tires.

A Husker Saturday
We were in Lincoln all day Saturday for Husker madness. We started at the volleyball game in the afternoon and finished the night off with the football team's first Big 10 win!
The view from my seat inside the Coliseum. The Coliseum opened in 1926 and was the arena for the basketball team until 1976 when the Devaney Center opened. It is know the exclusive home of the NU Volleyball team. The volleyball team holds the NCAA record for consecutive sellouts at the Coliseum. In 2014 they will be moving to a newly renovated Devaney center.
It's like playing Where's Waldo, now find Steven!
My attire for the football game.
The rain kept the balloons lingering over the stadium. It was a magical night. Well the T-Magic started in the 3rd quarter.

Harvest
It's harvest time in my parent's backyard. Their house sits in front of 37 acres of farmland. This year they planted corn. Here's a few pictures from my favorite time of year.

Race for the Cure
On Saturday my friends and I ventured down to the Qwest Center (well now it's the Century Link) to join 20,000 others and run the Susan Komen Race for the Cure.
It was an inspiring event and the number of breast cancer survivors generated a lot of hope.
Here's a blurry picture of us after we finished the 5K.
